Recorded in 2004 in Vienna, Austria, FML incorporates the familiar power-pop sound of The Sun Sawed in 1/2 with both jazz and classical touches. Rose wanted to use musicians who had no rock ’n roll background, let alone any understanding of power pop. The idea was to create a new hybrid that would elimate the cliches of the genre.
